TIFFANY A. ELKINS
Tiffany A. Elkins has been practicing law for approximately 20 years. Her practice emphasizes the areas of real property, probate law, the establishment of guardianships/conservatorships, collection work, and other miscellaneous litigation. Prior to coming to private practice, Tiffany was an Assistant Attorney General at the Oregon Department of Justice. She also served as a clerk for the Honorable Maureen McKnight at the Multnomah County Circuit Court. Tiffany received her B.A., cum laude, from Rice University (Women and Gender Studies/Political Science), and her J.D. from the University of Oregon School of Law. She is admitted to practice in both Oregon and Washington. When she is not practicing law, Tiffany enjoys skiing, hiking, cooking, going to see music, and traveling internationally.
J. Michael Harris — Law Firm in Portland, OR
J. MICHAEL HARRIS
J. Michael Harris is the newest partner and is an experienced trial attorney having taken over 100 cases to trial as lead counsel, with courtroom appearances in both criminal and civil matters. He has represented clients accused in cases ranging from DUII to high profile mandatory minimum felony charges. Prior to coming to Harris & Elkins, he served as an attorney for children, advocating for his clients before the court and with DHS. His civil practice areas include family law, representing landlords, collections, real estate, and other miscellaneous litigation. Michael received his undergraduate degrees in literature and philosophy from the University of California at Santa Cruz, and a J.D. from the University of Oregon School of Law. When he is not practicing law, Michael is an avid runner, expert skier, and mediocre golfer.
Kathryn Bourn — Law Firm in Portland, OR
SARAH RISSBERGER
Sarah Rissberger was admitted to the Oregon State Bar in 2020. Prior to joining Harris & Elkins, she served as an attorney at a local firm focusing on workers compensation in both Oregon and Washington and a wide range of employment law cases. Her civil practice areas include real estate, collections, and contract negotiations, with an emphasis on litigation. Sarah received her undergraduate degree from University of Puget Sound (United States Politics and Religious Studies), and her J.D. from Lewis and Clark Law School. When she is not practicing law, Sarah enjoys crafting, trying new restaurants and spending time with her Siamese cats. 
Kathryn Bourn — Law Firm in Portland, OR
JENNIFER KRISTIANSEN

Jennifer Kristiansen earned her JD from Lewis & Clark Law School in 2015. During her time there, she was an intern at the L & C Legal Clinic, representing domestic violence survivors and low-income tenants, and NCVLI, where she assisted crime victims across the country to find resources and advocates.


Until she joined Harris & Elkins, she practiced family law, specializing in representing domestic violence survivors and advocating for greater access to justice.


Prior to law school, Jennifer earned a BA in English (Western Oregon University, ‘04) and an MA in journalism (University of Oregon, ‘07); she put her degrees to use as a freelance copywriter, penning verse for technology companies, small businesses, Fortune 500 companies, and the entertainment section of a daily newspaper.


Outside of work, she can usually be found with a book or a knitting project in hand, accompanied by her Husband, teenage sons, and their dog, Hubble.

H. She worked for years at law firm that specialized in the ADA, where she has handled matters in technology and retail, hospitality, as well as schools and public accommodations. 


She also worked at the State of New Mexico as a prosecutor. 


She worked for the City of New York as an education lawyer.


Admitted in three States: Oregon, Georgia, Alabama. 


Admitted in four Federal Courts including the Northern District of Georgia, the Middle District of Alabama, The Northern District of Alabama. 


In her spare time Ms. Burns likes to get out on the water as much as possible via kayak or sailboat, and she enjoys birding, exploring Portland, and reading The Oregonian.
